New theme for the blog

I’ve changed the look of the blog, because change is good every so often and I wanted a new look.

I chose a theme called INove, which is one of 93 free themes available to wordpress.com users. Let me know what you think.

Oh, not so hot when it comes to keeping my guitar logo 😦

  3. ( | o )====:::

might be time to design a mandolin πŸ˜‰

    Hey BrianD,
Any chance of tweaking the field under the Gravitar to at lease 13 characters? …or else I’m gonna have to take up a new instrument. πŸ™‚

    wonder if this will work?

  6. [o_O]
    June 21, 2010 at 8:18 pm

admittedly, only a graphic designer would be this wacky about such a thing

Ugh. Didn’t want you to lose your guitar logo. I’ll see what I can do.

When I opened the blog on my iphone, I got a mobile theme I didn’t even know about. Did that show up for you, or did you get this theme?

  8. [o_O]
    June 21, 2010 at 8:19 pm

Got the mobile theme, which is fine. No worries about my guitar (unless it’s an easy tweak), I can be a demented robot. it fits my personality πŸ˜‰

Just looked in the dashboard. Not a lot I can do, I’m afraid. Probably because this is a theme that comes with wordpress.com, and you don’t have the flexibility with those themes like you would with a wordpress.org theme…

Looks good Brian. What do you think of the three column themes they offer??

  11. [o_O]
    June 21, 2010 at 8:49 pm

I’ll be experimenting, no worries. As long as it’s readable and workable for the community I’ll morph

Werx fer me, but I do like the guitar.

    June 21, 2010 at 9:04 pm

ER, haven’t looked at the 3-column themes.

Gren if this becomes a hassle I can always switch back.

    Captain Kevin,
Would love to round up the night crew.

Guess I should ask, may we start a night crew? My wife thinks that now that PP is offline I’ll stop blogging. I’d hate to prove her right πŸ˜‰

    Check back with y’all later.

Did somebody say, “Night Crew?!!!” πŸ™‚

  18. Captain Kevin
    June 21, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Honestly, I don’t stay up late that much anymore (Be quiet, London!), but there are occasions when I’m studying or waiting for the pain meds to kick in. I’ll be sure to check in here when that happens.

    June 21, 2010 at 9:28 pm

Captain Kevin London told me i had to have a pirate name on PP if the NightCrew returned, there were 2 other rules…but unless you’re here on NightCrew the pirate names are no more (even though London says her pirate name is a secret)

When I first started reading the PP it was during the second incarnation of the night crew. I would sit at my desk in the morning and just be shocked, shocked I tell ya at what was being said the night before. It made me laugh my head off, but I was surprised there were other Christians out there that had a sense of humor and were not afraid to show it. I was so boxed in from my previous church experience I had lost my sense of humor. Shortly after leaving I actually had someone say to me, β€œI forgot you were funny” ouch.

    Hi Na’amah,
I don’t know about a rule, but pirate names are cool (hey, a rhyme!). I was “Captain” Kevin before stumbling upon the Night Crew, due to my love of lighthouses, tall ships, and all things of nautical lore. Eric sometimes calls me Captain Crunch! πŸ™‚

I own the bar, so there can be a night crew here πŸ™‚

ER, I went through the 97 themes available to me just now, and the three I like the best are all two-column (INove, Regulus which was what I used before, and WordPress Classic which is one of like seven themes we used at FTA). I’m not particularly impressed with any of them; the good themes are available only for wordpress.org blogging software, which I used for my last blog.

  23. June 21, 2010 at 10:48 pm

Does .com let you access the stylesheet? If so theres loads you can do to customize it

  24. briwd2006
    June 21, 2010 at 10:51 pm

There is a CSS stylesheet editor.

Brian, I have gone through so many themes to see how my blog might look different but have stayed with what I have. If I’m not mistaken there are themes not at wordpress that folks can use although I’m not 100% sure!

  27. briwd2006

If you find out for sure, let me know!

    another night crew?

  29. Believe
    June 22, 2010 at 12:06 am

What’s shakin’ “night crew”…got room for a haggard (not the Ted kind) old trampled on, spat on, shat on ex-PP’er with serious familial issues and a tendency toward manifestations of snarky anger regarding certain denominations (or “non”) which shall remain unnamed?

  30. briwd2006
    June 22, 2010 at 12:18 am

    Sure Believe.

I may or may not be at the bar every night…right now I only have three rules:

    1. If you break bottles or create a mess, clean up after yourselves

    2. No lawyers!

    3. No fake pirate names…make ’em authentic!

    4. Only good beer and spirits are allowed…this includes Kahlua πŸ™‚

  31. Believe
    June 22, 2010 at 12:19 am

LOL! It would be refreshing just to goof around and leave the serious issues alone. πŸ™‚

  32. Believe
    June 22, 2010 at 12:20 am

    …at least on here anyway.

  33. Believe

Just a passing thought to share,
-is it just me or has a conversation turned weird when someone says in the same breath, “we’re the temples of the Holy Spirit and that is why we need guns, to stop these socialists…” 😯

yeahhhhh, someone looked right into my eyes tonight and said that to my face

and all I could think was “WWJP? (What Would Jesus Pack?)”

Feel free to make up your own as well. πŸ˜‰

  40. Na'amah
    June 22, 2010 at 3:11 am

well, i am attempting to ‘behave’ ya know i have, at times, a proclivity to be less than the ‘proper’ churchlady in my initial reactions/responses to the myriad of environmental stimuli presented by others/the world oh, and probably my own braincells as well. πŸ™„

    Captain Kevin,
worse yet, it’s my 80 year old FoxNews TBN EWTN edicted mom-in-law.
Just learned she has a gun somewhere at her apt but lost her bullets

“lost her bullets”… I’m gonna use that elsewhere πŸ˜‰

  46. Captain Kevin
    June 22, 2010 at 11:58 am

Lord, have mercy! Grendal, in this case, let’s hope she doesn’t find her bullets, or that the right person finds them before she does.
